Yes—under the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act, most plans must cover:
Breast prostheses
Mastectomy bras
Reconstruction (if chosen)
Coinsurance is the percentage of a medical cost that you pay after your insurance has started helping. This is after a deductiable.
A copay (or co-pay) in insurance is a set, fixed amount you pay for a covered healthcare service or item. Majority of the time, you will not deal with this for your garments.
A deductible, is the amount you must pay out of your own pocket before your insurance starts helping cover costs. It resets every year.
A deductible = what you pay first each year before insurance kicks in
Example:
Your deductible is $1,000
You haven’t paid anything yet this year
You get $300 worth of mastectomy bras
- You pay the full $300
- You now have $700 left on your deductible
Once you hit the full $1,000, then:
Insurance starts paying
You may only owe coinsurance (like 10–20%) or a copay
This varies by plan, but a common guideline:
6-12 mastectomy bras per year (3 every quater)
1–2 silicone prostheses per every 2 years
1-2 non-silicone prostheses every 6 months
Usually yes. Insurance typically requires:
A doctor’s prescription and
Diagnosis code (e.g., post-mastectomy)
We cannot proceed without the diagnosis code. We will request the prescription for you.
We have a list of the insurances we are in network with below! If we are not in network with yours, you can call and request both us and your insurance provider to try and get us connected.
We will also work with foundations and hospitals to try and get your garments through them as well.
No, you don't. You can pay for any garment you want from our available garments and receive them as soon as we ship them. You would also be able to ask your insuracne to reimburse you afterwards as well.
